Rich Caramadre is a master of perfection in the traditional darkroom.
Rich photographs with large format film–based cameras, such as his Deardorff, to create award winning rich tonal black & white fine art photographs.
Technically, that means permanent record, museum quality and heirloom works that speak of his love of the Western Landscape.
All negatives and prints are hand processed using traditional darkroom techniques. His choice to stay with film photography is twofold: first his love of the technical control of light afforded by a large-format camera, and second his love of working in the darkroom, hands on, to create a unique piece of art. Rich believes the luminance and depth of a silver gelatin print is more beautiful than what is attainable from a pigment print. Although taken from nature, each print reflects his inspiration and craft.
Presented on acid free rag board.
